The Music Factory VA Classical Guitar Ensemble has been active for over 13 years. We have had hundreds of students enrolled throughout the years. The Classical Guitar Ensemble rehearses and performs music from the Renaissance period up to contemporary. The students acquire many skills such as:
- sight-reading
- tone development
- rhythm skills
- dynamics
- musicality
- technique
- the ability to play with others
- an appreciation of repertoire ranging over 500 years
- performance skills
Many of my students that have participated in the Classical Guitar Ensemble have gone on to study in some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Shenandoah Conservatory, the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Berklee College of Music, Christopher Newport University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
An audition is required for this ensemble.
Within this ensemble, I also offer master classes that cover such topics as:
- performance skills
- musical interpretation
- technique
- building performance confidence
